Danby Community Church is a community church whose roots go back to the Presbyterian , United Methodist and the Congregationalist denominations. The sanctuary was erected in 1820 and several additions have been added since then.
As we serve God and community, our church has a long history of missions serving several around the world and here at home! We reach our community through a monthly food pantry, clothing give-away and prayer blankets. We have been active within both denominations to assist in the relief during this nation’s most recent disasters. Several of our members have traveled to Louisiana to donate their time and service to help with the rebuilding of the area. A truck driving friend delivered products from our food pantry and clothing drives to areas in need in the Gulf area of the United States. We support missions in Africa, Honduras and Renovation House in Spencer, New York.
We are a very musical church with a praise band leading both contemporary praise songs and traditional hymns of faith. We are fortunate to have two very talented musicians on lead and bass guitar. At our Wednesday service, we "let our hair down" sometimes changing up praise favorites with a different beat or style.
Our Christian Education ministries have something for everyone from newborns to adult classes. Classes are held on Sunday before the service and a Children's Church is held during the service. Nursery is provided for those children under 5 years old. We offer several Bible studies throughout the year.
Our church is accessible and we provide assistive listening devices.
We look forward to talking with you and if you are in Danby, please stop by. It would be our privilege to worship with you at any of our services on Sundays and Wednesdays.
God Bless You and hope to see you real soon! Pastor Ed
